COOL'S CUSTOM CALLS

I specialize in making custom slate calls for turkey hunting. 

These calls are not fancy conversation pieces to put on your desk at the office. Rather, what I offer is a beautifully built quality call for the serious turkey hunter...

I use a variety of woods and materials to achieve realistic turkey sounds. These are definitely calls that work in the turkey woods...

The Domestic woods used vary from Black Walnut, Cherry, Curly Maple, Cedar, Yellowheart, Redheart, Orange Osage, and Poplar.

Exotic woods include Canary, Lacewood, Bloodwood, Cocobolo, Bubinga, Purpleheart, Zebrawood, Padauk.

Each pot is fine sanded and then sealed internally and externally with a minimum of 3 coats of clear satin or semi-gloss polyurathane. This weatherproofs the call and brings out the natural beauty of the wood. 

I use combinations of slate over glass, slate over crystal, slate over wood, glass over slate, glass over crystal, glass over acrylic, glass over wood, cyrstal over glass, crystal over acrylic, crystal over wood, aluminum over glass, aluminum over slate, copper over slate, and copper over glass.  I also make these calls with no soundboards as well.

 Each call is tuned and comes with a rosewood or purpleheart striker, which also receives 3 coats of polyurathane for weatherproofing.
